We are a group of BYU students looking to make life easier for children on the autistic spectrum and their parents.
From talking with real parents of kids who struggle with transitions, we have found that the unexpected changes in routine can be stressful for children. It can often lead to meltdowns and take time out of busy schedules.
Sori is designed to help children transition from task to task with ease and embrace the unexpected changes in routine. It combines their favorite stuffed animal with an electronic interface that gives visual cues to the children based off of the parent's online calender. It is controlled by a simple scheduling app that the parents can download and customize.
Our goal with this product is to help foster independence with completing daily tasks and take the fear out of unexpected transitions.
